THE BENEFITS OF GRANITE
As one of the most durable materials in the world, granite is denser and stronger than all other natural stones. The use of granite has increased considerably over the years due to the innate strength it holds over other stones such as marble.
Though coarse in its natural state, the surface of granite can be polished to a smooth and silky finish, making it incredibly easy to clean and maintain. Any stains or spills can simply be wiped up with ease using soap and a warm cloth.

THE BENEFITS OF QUARTZ STONE
Engineered Quartz stone provides some of the most durable and practical surfaces available. Like granite, quartz worktops are also highly resistant to staining and scratching, but with the added benefit of increased flexibility, which makes them easier to work with during the installation process.
The specific composition, pattern and colour of the stone are all devised by the manufacturers. This gives you a far greater choice and allows consistency over any size of surface.
Unlike granite, engineered quartz stone is a non-porous material. It requires minimal maintenance, with a simple clean using soap and warm water being all that is needed to keep these worktops looking as good as new.
Whilst granite is highly resistant to weathering, if exposed to natural sunlight, quartz stone can start to fade in colour. It is also heavier than granite, and so would need to be installed by professionals.
Like granite, seams will also be visible in quartz stone, however these will be noticeably less visible when you choose a slab that is darker in colour. Also because quartz stones have been coloured and manufactured, any seams that do occur will be easier to hide than in granite, particularly if you buy a quartz worktop in a solid colour.
